I almost choke every time I hear someone saying, “that’s how it’s always been done”. Everything, and I mean absolutely everything, can be improved and done faster, cheaper, or more efficiently. I’m obsessed with making the world better.

Opportunities are everywhere! I can’t stand people who only see dead ends. Innovation is driven by people who have intellectual humility and the ability to acknowledge the limits of their own knowledge, so they can push past them. Thomas Edison didn’t invent the light bulb by studying what they taught him in school. Defeat and failure don’t bother me at all. I actually enjoy unexpected outcomes as they motivate me to look for even more innovative ways to solve a problem.

I always question my decisions and the direction of a project. I rarely get attached to my initial concept, I enjoy exploration with an open mind until I reach the Aha! moment. If you’re not continuously experimenting and reflecting on what you’re doing, then you’ll miss pieces of information and opportunities to deliver truly innovative solutions.

My superpower is my ability to switch from intellectual work to practical ideas, from vision to execution, from seeing the world where it is now to where it needs to be tomorrow. For me, “change is an opportunity, not a threat”.
