The first thing I ask people who I’m about to work with is “What’s the most important thing for you outside your job?”. The answer to this question offers so much insight into what their personality is and what it’d be like to work with them.
I’m usually looking for accountability and passion - the only skills you can’t teach. I believe that if you surround yourself with responsible individuals who share your passion and vision, anything is possible. You can’t reach the top alone, it’s the collective power that takes you there and makes success worth every painful setback. For this reason, my top priority in business is to find and keep the most talented people in my industry.
I consider myself a “people” person. I find it extremely exciting and satisfying to help each team member unleash their potential and achieve amazing things, inside and outside work. I take pride in my team’s excellent performance, and I’d rather see my top performers in the spotlight than myself.
As an entrepreneur and leader, my job is to make sure that I’ve got all the puzzle pieces in place and all parts of my machine work seamlessly. This gives me the freedom to think, plan and strategize, and most importantly it gives me leverage to achieve things I’ve never thought were possible.
